Biography
Originally from Bordeaux, Carla has been living in Brussels for several years. After graduating fom the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in textile design, she also pursued ceramics training at the Academy of Arts in Brussels. Her artistic practice stands out through a unique fusion of metal knitting and reclaimed ceramics.
With a deep passion or exploring materials and techniques, Carla pushes the traditional boundaries of textile art. She incorporates ceramic fragments collected during her wanderings, weaving them into pieces.
Inspired by contracts, strengh and fragility, flexibility and rigidity, her works captivate through the bold juxtaposition of two inherently opposing materials, challenging common perceptions of textiles.
At the heart of her work lies a commitment to revaluing existing resources, particularly by transforming broken and discarded ceramics into central elements of her creations.
